The Lovely Afro started as a weekly 1 hour radio show on Radio Boise, celebrating and elevating the melanated in the Treasure Valley and beyond. It included conversations, music & performances. I created it to bring more Black and Brown voices to the airwaves, to share our stories, our struggles and our triumphs. An antidote to the loneliness and isolation we can feel being Black and Brown in a very White dominated state such as Idaho. The radio show ran for two years. These are the interviews re-edited as podcasts so the stories can be shared and archived.
