I am an arts educator, musician, actor, community builder and clinical social worker. In 2010 I created Metamorphosis Performing Arts Studio, LLC as a place where the performing arts and mental health intersect. I provide my own programming and also contract with schools and organizations to facilitate interactive workshops for children and adults on a variety of topics. I am a grant recipient from the Morrison Center, Feast, Covid Cultural Commission Fund, Alexa Rose Foundation, and Idaho Commission of the Arts (ICA), where I am also an ICA Certified Change Leader.
Some things I do as a “Changemaker”… I am a member of the Western States Arts Federation Emerging Leaders of Color Professional Development program and a Juried Artist with Music To Life, a national nonprofit founded by Noel Paul Stokey of Peter Paul and Mary. I co-facilitated the creation of the Idaho Antiracism Coalition of Arts, Culture and History Organizations, and contract as a DEI consultant for the Morrison Center and CATCH. I was the keynote speaker for the 2022 Region 4 Trauma Conference, presenting on Race-Based Trauma, and have been a presenter at the Blue Sky DEI Summit for 2021 and 2023 as well as the 2023 United Vision For Idaho Rural Democracy Summit. I was recently named an honoree of the 2023 Idaho Business Review Women of the Year.
But also, I’m an actor and musician and I play in bands and sing in choirs and jump around on stage and in front of cameras as much as people will allow. Although I don’t do any of these endeavors full time, I pour passion and craftmanship into every branch of this tree of mine.
My dog Annabelle is a lovebug who is always at the studio and travels with me most places, includng gigs. She was mistreated before I adopted her and it took a couple years for her to gain her confidence and safety around others, but now she is a lovebug seeking bellyrubs from one and all.
